The sweetest tomato salad I crave all year.
Every summer at our annual family BBQ, my cousin, a professional chef, puts me in charge of our tomato salad. It’s a long standing tradition and a responsibility I do not take lightly. After many years, I’ve become quite confident with my tomato selection skills and am happy to share this easy and delicious recipe.
Ingredients
Heirloom Tomatoes (we grow our own, or you can get some at your local farmers market)
Feta Cheese
Basil
Flowers (Squash Blossom, Pansy, Nasturtium)
Onion (optional)
EVOO, Salt & Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
Chop the tomatoes (varying bite sizes)
Crumble the Feta
Layer the tomatoes and feta into serving dish, drizzling with olive oil
Add salt and pepper (to taste)
Top with basil leaves and flowers (as desired)
