I’ve had the privilege of working in the home industry for over 10 years and with each passing year comes another batch of eye catching books launched by interior designers, architects and expert tastemakers. Here are a few of my tried and true favorites along with some newer releases.
Achille Salvagni This is the first monograph on the Roman architect and designer. A highly curated look at the design superstars best projects, organized thematically instead of chronologically.
At Home with Dogs and their Designers Advice from the industry’s top interior designers on how to keep a stylish home with pups. This title had me at ‘dog’ before adding to cart and checking out.
The Big Book of Chic A highly illustrated volume filled with projects by internationally acclaimed interior design sensation Miles Redd. Renowned for his quirky brand of cozy glamour, The Big Book of Chic is sure to leave you inspired.
Elements of a Home A book that compiles interesting tidbits by author and historian, Amy Azzarito, she spotted in various design tomes. Amy shares with us the secret histories of everyday objects.
Flowers One of America’s leading tastemakers who has shared her love of gardening and flower arranging with the country, Carolyne Roehm turns her personal photos into this vibrant book which presents more than 300 images that capture the varieties in her abundant gardens throughout the seasons.
Liaigre 12 Projects A large format collection of 12 projects by visionary interior designer, Christian Liaigre. LULU A colorful anthology of artist and designer, Lulu de Kwitkowski, the book is a visual autobiography of the her life, entirely done by hand.
Interior Design Master Class: 100 Lessons from America’s Finest Designers on the Art of Decoration 100 essays from 100 interior designers, both established legends and rising stars, spanning all stylistic genres (from classic to modern) on varied subjects (from layering to collecting to floor plans). As essential book on design, this publication collects knowledge from some of the best in the industry.
Portraits of Interiors Through 320 pages, this book explores the negotiation between architecture, art and nature to create the ultimate home oasis. Including seventeen international projects, the book presents Axel Vervoordt’s first work in India, Russia and Japan.
Rubelli: A story of silk in Venice Details the rich and luxurious story of Rubelli, the Venice-based textile firm through reproduced watercolors, drawings and period photographs. The author, Irene Favaretto, great-granddaughter of Lorenzo Rubelli traces the family-owned firm’s trajectory from early commissions by Queen Margherita in 1902 to the 2012 renovation of the famed Gritti Palace Hotel.
