For as long as I can remember, my mother set the table for all events at least two weeks in advance. As a child, I never understood why. As an adult, and, the parent of a toddler, it’s amazing how quickly the holidays arrive. I’m a planner by nature, I have inherited the tradition of preparing weeks in advance, just like my mother did.

With Covid cases rising and plans feeling uncertain, I will be setting a proper table for Zach, Wesleigh and myself. We will be getting gussied up. Perhaps not in dresses, but in proper attire as opposed to our typical casual wear.

I’ll be setting the table with some of my most loved Lenox pieces including their Contempo Luxe and Colebrook place settings. Their pieces are dishwasher safe, perfect for casual everyday meals or when set carefully for a formal setting which in my house, means they work overtime.

This holiday season, I’m participating in a wonderful campaign where I’m joining fellow designers, Kendall Wilkinson and Sallie Lord of Greyhunt Interiors on Instagram through #ShowMeYourTable and #Friendsgiving2020 to showcase my holiday table setting with Lenox.

Through a tally of posts with these tags, Kendall and Sallie will be donating to Feeding America to help as many families as we can to have hot meals in time for Thanksgiving. 

I insist we maintain the magic moments that come with the holiday season, especially for our little ones. It’s been a hard year for many, but I believe it’s imperative we show our love, count our blessings and share all the things we have to be thankful for.

So pull out your fine china, set a table, create a cheerful centerpiece, make some yummy cocktails and reflect on the last year. There is always something to give gratitude towards.
